I’ll get straight to the point: Florida Republicans are trying to ban abortions in our state.

Reproductive rights, voting rights, and other human rights are being diminished by the GOP in Florida and other states with each passing day. Republican-controlled legislatures are passing harsh laws stripping away our freedoms.

We can’t ignore these blatant attacks on our democracy and freedoms. It’s up to each of us to fight back.

That’s why I’m reaching out, John, asking if you’ll chip in $10 before next week’s Federal Election Commission (FEC) deadline to help me defeat my Republican opponent in the upcoming midterm elections. With so much at stake, I must have your help to keep fighting in Congress for the rights Republicans are attacking.

John, it’s essential that Democrats show grassroots strength ahead of this deadline in the face of these coordinated attacks on our rights by Republicans across the country.

Right now in Congress, I’m fighting to pass legislation permanently protecting reproductive rights and voting rights for every American, including the Women’s Health Protection Act, to stop states who think they can overturn Roe v. Wade, and the John Lewis Voting Rights Act.

But our Democratic majorities in the House and Senate are slim, so every vote matters in these fights. If we lose our majorities in the midterms, we lose all the progress we’re making.
