Dear John,
Last year, the immigration law community lost a great attorney, mentor, and friend: Steve Clark.
Steve was the “go to guy” on business immigration for several decades, a former Council board member and long-time supporter of our work. In his position as AILA President from 1999 to 2000, he successfully advocated for AC 21, which provided 60,000 additional H-1B visas per year and allowed certain applicants for permanent residence to extend their H visa beyond the normal six-year limit. He authored over 100 publications on immigration topics, was a founding Fellow of the Alliance of Business Immigration Lawyers, and a founding member of IMMLAW®, the national consortium of preeminent immigration firms with over two centuries of combined immigration law experience.
In Steve’s memory, Clark Lau LLC has created the Steven Clark Immigration Workforce Fund [[link removed]] to support the American Immigration Council’s policy, legal, education, and communications efforts to promote fair and rational immigration workforce policies that reflect fundamental American values and hold the government accountable for conduct that unlawfully restricts employment-based immigration.

Vince Lau—Managing Partner of Clark Lau LLC and mentee of Steve Clark—is proud to announce that the firm will match all donations to this fund by December 31, 2021 up to $50,000.
We hope you will join us in honoring Steve and his legacy by supporting this critical work.
