GRASSROOTS ORGANIZING: STORYTELLING ACADEMY Our stories are powerful tools that can instruct and inspire, teaching us about why we should act and moving us to take action. The narratives and stories we share allow individuals, communities and nations to learn how to make choices in response to the challenges of the uncertain world we live in.
That's why we are beyond excited to launch our Storytelling Academy! If you are movement-focused and want to learn a framework for storytelling that is rooted in grassroots organizing, then this course is for you. It's perfect for organizers, campaigners, communicators and those who are just generally interested in the craft of storytelling.
The cohort will meet on Tuesdays, 6-8 pm ET beginning October 26th. The deadline to apply is October 7th, so apply today! re:action Sign the Petition: Congress MUST pass the People’s Response Act
Studies have shown that public safety is inextricably linked to racial and class inequalities. A holistic, inclusive, and health-centered approach to public safety is critical to ensuring the safety of communities of color, low-income communities, and disabled people. Today, “public safety” stands for criminalization, surveillance, and brutality. We need public safety to represent public health, and to center care first.
The People’s Response Act would mean re-imagining what public safety could look like in the hands of trained professionals dedicated to meeting your particular needs in the immediate moment.
Sign the petition and help tell Congress that public safety is a priority, and to pass the People’s Response Act.
