In August, we shared with you the story of Suneeta, an Afghan woman who escaped out of Afghanistan in 2018 ([link removed] ) . You may also have heard about Suneeta from CNN, or other national media.

After years of struggle and turmoil, Suneeta was finally able to reunite with her four children last month, thanks in large part to the relentless efforts of the USCRI attorney who handled her case. Sara Lowry, Attorney in USCRI’s Albany office, had this to say: “Suneeta’s situation is representative of so many, I am honored and humbled to be a part of her story and the stories of all refugees and immigrants.”

Suneeta’s journey is far from over. Due to their harrowing experience, she and her children face significant challenges adjusting to their new lives. USCRI’s Albany team has been with them every step of the way, helping them with housing, food, medical help, psychological help, and assistance in adjusting to their new lives. Her story is far from the only one. Each refugee who comes here has faced a struggle which few of us can imagine. And each of them needs oursupport ([link removed]) to get back on their feet.
