Friends,

In the seventeen years that “don’t ask, don’t tell” was in place, 13,000 American service members were discharged from their jobs because of their sexual orientation.

This policy was a tragedy. Not only did “don’t ask, don’t tell” marginalize countless brave men and women willing to serve their country, it forced service members to conceal their identities for fear of losing their livelihood.

Today, ten years after this un-American policy was repealed by the Obama administration, we must honor the sacrifices of our brave LGBTQ+ service members by passing the Equality Act. [[link removed]]

Ten years after the repeal of “don’t ask, don’t tell”, we still do not have any legal protections in place to outlaw discrimination against LGBTQ+ people in the workplace, housing, or education.

So, team, today I’m asking you to join me by becoming a citizen sponsor of the Equality Act. [[link removed]]

BECOME A CITIZEN SPONSOR [[link removed]] Not only is passing the Equality Act the right thing to do, it can begin to right the wrongs of our past. Please join me in honoring service members affected by “don’t ask, don’t tell” by signing on today. [[link removed]]Thank you,
David
