DSA members have made over 750 calls so far. Together, we've been talking about defunding the police so we can invest in community: housing for all, healthcare for all, eviction and rent protections, worker protections including artists and freelancers, and equitable solutions to root causes. Everyone deserves to sleep comfortably. Take a break and read the platform: which is being drafted with community at listening posts throughout the city. Because City Hall has not listened. Nikkita's campaign is crafting policy with people like you -- listening, struggling, breathing with the People.  We also need you comfortable talking about how this campaign can improve lives. We have so much to gain together, if we fight together. If you're reading this, you know life doesn't have to be this hard. This weekend are two canvasses organized by the Campaign:

Sept 25 @ 11am @ Cowen Park -and- Sept 26 @ 11am @ Dakota Place Park

Live in District 7 and can't make those? You're in luck. This Thursday, September 30 at 5:30 PM is the first DSA canvass in District 7 to support Nikkita Oliver for Seattle City Council. Meetup at 12th West & West Howe Park. It's a weeknight because some of us work weekends. Will you be there?

There's a lot this weekend: Community Breakfast that need volunteers, canvasses for Nicole Thomas Kennedy for Seattle City Attorney on Saturday in North Seattle and Sunday in Fremont, postering in defense of abortion rights throughout the city, and the PNW Medicare 4 All working session. We're going to make sure everyone gets the shelter and healthcare they need: and that means abortion, on demand and free-at-use, with no interference. No bullshit, no means test, no fifty page form for healthcare you need.
