Welcome to, Friday, September 24th, CDs and vinyls...

The Women's Health Protection Act of 2021 would create a federal statutory right to abortion.

Under the act, women could obtain an abortion without having to comply with state-level requirements related to abortions, such as those which require a check for a fetal heartbeat or an ultrasound.

The bill would define fetal “viability” as being the point at which a healthcare provider’s good-faith medical judgment finds a reasonable likelihood of sustained fetal survival outside the uterus with or without artificial support.

Individuals or entities, including providers of abortion, would be allowed to file a civil action to challenge alleged violations of provisions of this bill. States would not have immunity from an action in federal or state court over a violation of this bill.

Authorizing $768 Billion in Military Spending for 2022

The National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for Fiscal Year 2022 would authorize a total of $768.1 billion in defense funding for fiscal year 2022, including $739.5 billion in discretionary defense spending, along with $28.2 billion for nuclear defense activities by the Dept. of Energy.

It is purely an authorization bill that wouldn't provide actual funding, which would be approved through the regular appropriations process.

Your donation to the Clean Oceans Campaign just saved a dolphin's life.

Thanks to your contribution, Ocean Voyages Institute's Machias Vessel tagged 24 ghost nets.

Other vessels are preparing to head out and pick up the tagged ghost nets (AKA: The Underwater Slaughter). OVI will pick up the debris, stash it on the boat, and sail it back to the mainland.

Your contributions will make it possible--and by donating to the Clean Oceans Campaign, you'll be entered to win a trip to Hawaii.

OVI and WinTogether call it a "charitable sweepstakes."

Sea turtles call it a "win-fin situation."
