It’s not a radical idea:
Access to health care must be a fundamental right -- not a privilege reserved for those who can afford it. If you agree, add your name next to mine today »
Since Donald Trump was elected, more than seven million Americans have lost their health care coverage, and out-of-touch Republicans in state legislatures across the country have ratcheted up their attacks on women’s health care.
Today, three of every 10 Americans don’t take their medication as directed because they can’t afford the skyrocketing cost of prescription drugs.
And one of every five Americans report having trouble paying for basic necessities like food and housing because of their prescription drug costs.
All while insurance and pharmaceutical companies report record billion-dollar profits.
This is not what justice looks like for the American people. We can, and we must, do better. Here’s how we’ll do it:
We will deliver health care to every single American through my Medicare for All plan.
We will lower drug prices and hold the big pharmaceutical companies and insurance companies accountable for putting profit ahead of our health.
And we will not raise taxes on the middle class to do it.
But this fight will not be easy: big pharma won’t just sacrifice billions of dollars in profits because they’re asked nicely.
We have to show that we, the people, will not rest until we have achieved justice.
That’s why I’m asking to raise your voice today. If you believe health care in America is a right, not a privilege, I need you to add your name next to mine. Join me in the fight for health care justice in America »
We are tied together by our common values and our common purpose. And together, we are fighting to make sure every single American has quality, affordable health care.
We’re doing it by bringing new voices to the table and building a coalition of people driven to achieve justice. We’re showing everyone that we all have a voice -- and a stake -- in our America.
Thank you for being a part of it.
For The People,
— Kamala Harris
