We are sad to share the passing of Dr. David Broadbent with you.
Sharing the passing of Dr. David Broadbent, a lead poisoning prevention champion.
The Coalition to Prevent Lead Poisoning is deeply saddened to share that Dr. David Broadbent died on September 6, 2021. David was a primary care pediatrician who wanted to continue to serve the children in our community after he retired. He turned that desire into reality by helping to found the Coalition to Prevent Lead Poisoning.
David was an optimistic and dedicated guiding light in lead paint poisoning prevention, both on a local and state level, for many years. It’s questionable whether our successful lead poisoning prevention efforts in Rochester would have survived their challenging first years without David’s unwavering faith that our community could and would come together to protect children from lead poisoning – often in the face of daunting obstacles and evidence to the contrary.
New York State is a healthier, safer place due in great part to David Broadbent’s tenacity and vision. We fondly remember his infectious smile, commitment to children, and kind heart. Please join us in sending deepest condolences to his family.
