John, this country has a dark history of mistreating Black immigrants, and we saw it occur this past weekend.
Haitians are fleeing by the thousands due to political unrest, an increase in human rights abuses, and a lack of basic resources which have been exacerbated by this pandemic and climate change. But instead of providing safety and welcoming Haitian migrants into this country, the administration is expelling thousands of Haitian families who have desperately sought refuge in Del Rio, Texas in violation of our international treaty obligations and our own laws.
Shocking viral images reveal Haitian migrants being physically abused in Del Rio. As an immigration attorney, I’ve seen violations of basic human rights occur time and time again along the border. The administration must discontinue Trump’s racist and xenophobic immigration policies if they are serious about protecting immigrant rights and addressing immigration issues in the most effective and dignified way.
All immigrants deserve to be treated with dignity and respect. People should be allowed to seek safety, especially those who can’t go back to their native homes. While this is indeed a horrific and challenging time for Haitians immigrants and asylum-seekers, here’s what you can do to help:

Every dollar donated will go 100% towards Haitian Bridge Alliance — my campaign won’t take a single cent of the funds raised. Because right now, this is bigger than politics. This is about real people going through the unimaginable in the blistering Texas heat. We must do all we can to help those who are on the ground providing aid and resources on the border.
So please John, consider making an impact today by donating to Haitian Bridge Alliance today to provide direct aid for Haitian immigrants during this difficult time.
