Hi John, how are you? So much has happened since the last time I checked in via email. My heart is heavy with all the events of the last month – spiking COVID-19 rates, attacks on women’s autonomy, the Afghanistan withdrawal, and multiple devastating severe weather crises across the country, including here in Connecticut.

But when things start to feel dark, I put my head down and get to work. Focus on what you can do to make it better, right? And that is exactly what I have been doing. However, since the term for Congress is only two years, I have to start thinking about my election next year – and I need you to do the same. September is the final month of this fundraising quarter, and it is arguably the most important to date.

John, will you donate today to my re-election campaign so I can keep working for you in Washington? [[link removed]]

With all the early attention my campaign has received already, I have no doubt that the GOP is keeping a close eye on our fundraising numbers. National Republican groups have already invested MILLIONS in a handful of toss-up districts hoping to flip the House red, and CT-05 is one of those districts. They are using advertising to attack me for simply doing my job fighting for my constituents throughout this pandemic.

But if they see strong fundraising numbers from our campaign heading into 2022, they might reconsider if all their spending is worth it. After all, this grassroots team has helped us build an unprecedented communications, outreach, and turnout operation in the past, and I KNOW this election won’t be any different.

If we’re able to prove EARLY that their money is best put elsewhere, we can spend this campaign communicating my positive vision for our community – not fighting back against divisive rhetoric and hateful attack ads. Who can forget the hateful, angry, fear-mongering mailers sent out last year...

So, please. Your support ahead of the end-of-quarter deadline this month will help us make a clear statement: Don’t bother with the divisive partisanship. If you can, please make a donation today. Each dollar matters. [[link removed]]

Thank you for all you do,

– Jahana
