Congress is taking up the Build Back Better Act…it’s legislation with a provision that is really important to UAW members and their families. It’s a $4500 bonus tax credit for purchasing electric vehicles made in America and made by union workers. And that’s the critical point…too often tax credits meant to create good-paying American jobs have subsidized products made overseas or at substandard wages in non-unionized shops.
The “Made in America” provision would continue the existing tax credit and ADD a $4500 bonus tax credit for EVs assembled in the U.S. by UAW members.
This PROVISION would be a game-changer for UAW members assembling electric vehicles in the U.S.
