It’s no secret that liberals favor Wall Street over Main Street, but that was never more evident than over the course of the pandemic when the rich got richer and the small business owners were forced to close their doors and lay off their employees. Liberal lockdowns decimated small business across America during the past year and a half. However, these hostile polices are nothing new. They have been part of the liberal manifesto for decades in the forms of high taxes, overregulation, and rampant government spending leading to skyrocketing inflation.
Connecticut is the most recent state to see the effect of these disastrous policies. A recent report from the National Federation of Independent Businesses notes that over the last decade the state lost 6.4% of business (over roughly 4,000 small businesses). The group has blamed the governor and state legislators for enacting polices that had put small businesses in the crosshairs.
Conservatives know the foundation of the American dream is small business. We will continue to fight to create the best environment for them to thrive.
