Folks,
Republican attempts to overturn Roe. v. Wade just keep coming.
It's not enough that the Supreme Court's right-wing majority refused to block the dangerous, cruel abortion ban in Texas from going into effect. Just this week, the Court officially set a date for December 1 to hear arguments on whether or not to uphold Mississippi's 15-week ban on abortion.
If this law is upheld, it would overturn decades of abortion protections established under Roe v. Wade, and could wipe out abortion access in Republican-held states across the country.
But make no mistake: I won't stand by and let Republicans topple Roe and the rights it guarantees.
That's why I immediately signed on to a bicameral amicus brief to urge SCOTUS to protect reproductive rights, uphold Roe, and reject Mississippi's blatantly unconstitutional law.
And this summer, I also introduced the Women's Health Protection Act — to finally protect the right to abortion by federal law. Every day I'm working to pass this crucial legislation in the Senate because every woman, regardless of where she lives, deserves the freedom to make her own, personal decisions about her health care, her family and her body.
The Women's Health Protection Act would enshrine that right into law and protect equal access to reproductive rights nationwide once and for all.
Folks, if there was ever a time to act, it's now. We can't let radical, anti-choice Republicans wipe out our reproductive rights. So, will you chip in today to help me keep fighting to protect reproductive freedom, regardless of what the Supreme Court decides?
