Social Determinants of Health Caucus – Request for Information Letter
NCRC applauds the creation of this important caucus in Congress at a time when the vast majority of communities across the country have been and continue to be deeply impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. The health disparities we are seeing now have been a part of communities for some time, with the pandemic bringing to the forefront these deep-seated issues. Zip codes should not be indicators of health outcomes. [Read more]

CRA Regulations, Examination Procedures Should Include Explicit Focus On Race
Not only is it feasible, it is also constitutional to add a robust consideration of race to the requirements of the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA), a new report argues. [Read more]

Racial Wealth Snapshot: Latino Americans

By Dedrick Asante-Muhammad, Alexandra Perez and Jamie Buell
Latinos have the lowest attainment of bachelor’s degrees or higher of the major racial/ethnic groups in the United States. According to US Census Bureau 2020 Current Population Survey’s Annual Social and Economic Supplements, only about 20% of Latinos aged 25 years or older had a bachelor’s degree or higher. In contrast, 41% of Whites, 28% of African Americans and 61% of Asian Americans had a bachelor’s degree or higher. [Read more] [View Infographic]

Data Shows Poor Communities of Color in SoCal Impacted Most by Bank Closures
