My very first endorsement in the 2018 cycle

John,

Defeating Donald Trump last year wasn’t the end of our work. It was just the beginning. We've been working overtime in Congress delivering COVID-19 relief for the American people and fighting to pass meaningful legislation. Meanwhile, the GOP has picked up where their leader ended – threatening and subverting our democracy. Moving voter suppression bills through 49 states and using Trump's "Big Lie" as a weapon to pass them.

Our work is far from over, and in the face of these threats from the GOP, we need to keep every single Democrat in Congress. Especially those doing critical work. Which is why I'm reaching out to you today:

My friend Mike Levin is headed for what is likely to be one of the most competitive House races in the 2022 midterm election. Republicans have him at the top of their target list in California, and his district boundaries could change at a moment's notice with redistricting on the horizon.

You may not know this, but Mike was my very first endorsement in the 2018 cycle when he flipped CA-49 from red to blue. And he's been making incredible progress for the district ever since – from supporting veterans and delivering COVID-19 relief to putting forward solutions to combat the climate crisis.

He's shown true leadership and courage, and we simply cannot lose his leadership in Congress. His community is better off because of him. And his seat is absolutely critical to holding our House majority. That's why I'm writing to you to ask for your support:

Will you chip in a $3 contribution to Mike's campaign before his end-of-quarter deadline in just one week? Believe me when I say that every dollar is crucial to keeping this seat blue and to keep making progress in Congress.

The work in front of us will be hard, especially in protecting Mike’s seat. But we must never back down. I know I won't, and I can promise you that Mike won't either. I hope you'll join us.

Thanks for all you do,

Adam Schiff
Congressmember, CA-28
