Dear John,

After my uncle died in a Chinese prison, I was arrested for questioning the
circumstances of his death.

To speak out for my family, and my people, I left Tibet. Because I will not be silenced.

I’m committed to telling the world about what happened to my family so that we
can stop other Tibetan families from suffering in the same way.
Please make a gift to ICT now to help raise awareness worldwide about China’s
assault on religious freedom.

My uncle, Tenzin Delek Rinpoche, was a respected religious leader and vocal
advocate for Tibetans’ rights and culture. That is why the Chinese government
falsely imprisoned him in 2002.

In July 2015, after 13 years behind bars, Chinese officials told us that my
uncle died of a heart attack and quickly cremated his body.

My family believes his death is not of a natural cause. And in an additional act
of inhumanity, prison officials denied our family the opportunity to do final
rites according to Tibetan Buddhist tradition.

Sadly, many other Tibetans could tell you similar stories. But they are not free
to speak.

John, you and I have freedom, and together we can
use it to help the people of Tibet.
When you make a gift now, you’ll help raise awareness of my people’s plight and
push world leaders to take a stand against China’s oppression.

Your support of ICT gives me hope for one day returning to Tibet and living in
peace.

Thank you for standing with all Tibetans—and standing up for religious freedom
in my homeland.

Tashi Delek,

Nyima Lhamo

P.S. I do not want what happened to me to happen to another Tibetan family.
Please make a generous gift now to help ICT rally world leaders to stand up to
China’s immoral human rights abuses.
