John,

This endorsement announcement is bittersweet, because it’s our last round for the 2021 cycle. As excited as I am to share all these amazing candidates with you, it means Election Day is right around the corner – and we have our work cut out for us. Pitch in today to support our latest endorsements!

In this latest slate, there are two state legislative races to keep a close eye on: Bret Jacob, running in the special election for the Rhode Island state Senate, and Douglas Ward, running for the Virginia House of Delegates. Bret has a tough primary ahead of him, but he holds endorsements from many notable groups in the area. And Douglas, a leading expert in the fight against HIV/AIDS, is running against an entrenched incumbent who proudly voted against marriage equality and to keep the “gay-panic” defense.

We’re standing with another huge slate of future city councilors, mayors, school board members and other local leaders. We’ve said it many times before, but local candidates will have the biggest impact on the daily lives of their future constituents. They’re our first line of defense against anti-equality legislation at the local level and help change perceptions of LGBTQ people in their communities.

But we need your help to elect them! Donate today to ensure all of our amazing LGBTQ candidates win.

Thanks again for standing with us,

Sean Meloy
