Letter to Constituents
Dear Constituent,
I just wanted to update you and let you know I have had some great news lately in being appointed a Cabinet Minister. It was a massive privilege to be given this opportunity and to have the role as the Minister of State in Education responsible for the skills agenda, further education and higher education working with the Secretary of State Nadhim Zahawi. This is an incredibly important role for the delivery of our levelling up agenda both nationally and locally here in Wiltshire and I wanted to reassure you that my focus will always remain the local area.
It was fantastic to attend my first ever Cabinet meeting last Friday and it reaffirmed my drive to build out of this pandemic in a positive way that delivers for the whole country, including for Wiltshire where I am fighting for extra funding for our brilliant market towns whilst campaigning for better broadband and better transport for our villages and rural areas. All of this is underpinned by the reason why I entered politics – spreading opportunity in education and employment right across the country, closing the skill’s gap and improving the lives of constituents.
I also want to take the time to thank all of you who have donated to my fundraising campaign for Holt Pre-School. I have been blown away by the generosity of those who really care about our local community and tomorrow I will be setting out on the 87 mile walk along the beautiful Kennet & Avon Canal and secure over £5,600 which we have already raised. This has massively exceeded my original target and so if anyone who has not donated but is thinking about it, please do consider clicking the link below and contributing – the pre-school need £45,000 in total for their new building: https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/michelle-donelan?utm_term=x5ZbgKqYj
Yours sincerely,
