In just a moment, I’m going to ask you to make a contribution to my campaign. Please give me a chance to explain why this request — especially today — is so important.

Here’s the truth:

One week from today, we close the books on a critical, official FEC fundraising deadline. And when it ends, we’re legally required to report what we’ve raised.

So, if you’ve been waiting for the right time to chip-in, I’m here to tell you today is that day.

Because everyone is going to be looking at our report: the press and our opponents. And a lower number could invite even more outside spending against us.
