Outlets are now reporting that Pendley is set to receive an unspecified "lifelong payment" from his former employer, the anti-public lands group Mountain States Legal Foundation. His lifelong commitment to dismantling and selling off public lands already disqualified him from taking charge of the very agency tasked with protecting those lands ? and now we know he's even deeper in the pockets of corporate polluters than we thought.

William Perry Pendley's blatant disdain for the very concept of public lands can't be denied: he once claimed that the Founding Fathers "intended all lands owned by the federal government to be sold," and even that the government has a "duty to dispose of its lands."

And Trump wants him running the Bureau of Land Management on a permanent basis, a critical agency that manages over 248 million acres of U.S. public landmass and oversees 221 wilderness areas, 27 national monuments, and some 636 other protected areas as part of the National Conservation Lands, totaling about 36 million acres.

Pendley leading the BLM is a classic fox in the henhouse. He MUST be stopped.
