Border Patrol on horseback rounding up Haitian immigrants is cruel and unacceptable. But when asked about the images surfaced this week of Border Patrol’s barbaric behavior, Congressman Henry Cuellar didn’t condemn their actions. Instead, he doubled down and defended them on CNN.

Unfortunately, Henry Cuellar’s record on immigration speaks even louder than his cruel words. He voted to fund Trump’s racist border wall twice and was the only Democrat to support extending the amount of time immigrant children could be detained. It’s no surprise that Cuellar is backed by for-profit immigration detention centers while he fights for the further militarization of the U.S.-Mexico border.

Texans deserve better than Henry Cuellar and his defenseless comments and actions. We were so close to defeating Cuellar in 2020, but he isn’t going down without a fight. Will you make a $3 contribution to help us elect Jessica Cisneros and unseat Rep. Cuellar once and for all?
