The recent withdrawal of David Chipman’s nomination for ATF head represents a huge win for the gun lobby. This position, which has been vacant since 2015, has a pivotal role to play in the fight against gun violence, and it is outrageous that Congress has not taken this most basic step to address the gun violence epidemic. We will continue to push the Biden administration to fill this position.
