President Biden won Wisconsin by 20,000 votes. Republican leaders in the state purged 205,000 voters from the rolls. This comes after a conservative group sued to have the voters removed from the rolls. Suppressive efforts like this are how the GOP plans to win the governorship and U.S. Senate seat in the midterms and 10 more electoral votes in 2024.
Our only hope is to re-register all the purged Wisconsin voters.
Yes, sweeping purges like this impacts everyone. But the data show low-income voters and young people are most at risk from purges — groups more likely to support Democrats. Purging 205,000 voters from the rolls will easily shave off the 20K vote margin Democrats had in 2020. That’s the entire election right there.
