In the meantime, we’re sharing some milestones from the past three and a half decades. This week: #21-25.

21. In our short film, “What Came Before,” Steve-O discusses what billions of animals never escape. He shares the stories of Nikki pig, Symphony hen, and Fanny cow—and what they survived before coming to Farm Sanctuary.

22. George was dying—and his owner didn’t care. After months of hands-on, specialized treatment at Farm Sanctuary, the little piglet made a full recovery and is now growing up healthy and strong.

23. Tabitha Brown of TikTok fame spent Mother’s Day at Farm Sanctuary. The vegan influencer then took to social media to encourage love and respect for farm animals.

24. We made a splash on Animal Planet! “Wild Jobs” host John “Griff” Griffith joined a shift with our team and shared a glimpse of what it takes to care for rescued farm animals.

25. You can get some hands-on experience, too! Our internship program runs year-round at Farm Sanctuary’s New York shelter.

Together, we’ll reflect on 35 years of Sanctuary, plus the work involved in creating a more just and compassionate food system.

We’ll be honoring amazing changemakers: Brenda Sanders of Thrive Baltimore, Afro-Vegan Society, Vegan Soulfest, and Greener Kitchen and Maggie Baird of Support + Feed for their commitment to food justice and combating food insecurity. You’ll hear stories of survival, of hard-won victories, and more!
