Nick is the Director of Issue Advocacy at the American Action Network and Executive Director of the Trailblazers Fund at the Congressional Leadership Fund. He resides in Washington, D.C. with his wife and three children. Learn more about him here.

Alberto Martinez

Meet Alberto

Alberto E. Martinez serves as an Executive Vice President for Targeted Victory, a leading digital marketing, advertising and public affairs firm. In his role, Alberto serves as an advisor to CEO’s and c-suites on strategic communications, public policy and public affairs. Prior to joining Targeted Victory, Alberto served as chief of staff for United States Senator Marco Rubio.

Alberto got his start in politics as an intern to Governor Jeb Bush. A veteran of numerous high-profile campaigns, Alberto was communications director in the pivotal battleground state of Florida for President George W. Bush’s 2004 campaign and senior advisor to Mitt Romney’s presidential campaign.

In 2017, Alberto was elected to the National Board of Maverick PAC. He is a previous MavPac Future 40 award winner, Huffington Post “40 under 40 in Latino Politics,” active with Senator Tim Scott’s Empower America Project, and the first Cuban-American to serve as a chief of staff in the United States Senate. Alberto and his wife are active at the Basilica of St. Mary and the Basilica School of St. Mary and are the proud parents of an 11-year old boy and a 2-year old girl.

What makes MavPAC special?

I can't think of a better time to be a member of an organization that brings like-minded mainstream conservatives together for the purposes of networking, public service and playing an influential role in electing and supporting the next generation of Republican leaders. We're seeing a generational shift in our politics and especially in the Republican Party. It used to be that young people provided a lot of labor to political campaigns, but the candidates were always over the age of 65. However, if you look at the people currently leading our party, wether it's in the Senate or in key Governorships around the country, they look and think more like the membership of Maverick PAC than ever before: young, diverse, and willing to challenge the status quo that for too long dominated our party through middling success.

Maverick PAC helps bring together young and ambitious people, who are oriented toward public service and being a part of something bigger than themselves. We collectively push each other forward to play a leadership role in what our party says and does. It's why so many of our members are members of Congress, or state and local elected officials, or are playing prominent roles in their businesses, public service and their communities.

There's no other organization on the right that does what we do, and in many ways, we're still just getting started.

Predictions about the future of the GOP?

Republicans will win back the majority in both chambers in 2022.

"Wokeness" is a fad that America will overcome, the way 1980s America used to laugh at people who were hippies in the 60's.

The Republican nominee in 2024 will be someone that has spoken at a MAVPAC event, and during their two terms as President will cement the modern Republican party as a multi-racial, multi-ethnic working-class party.

The Miami Dolphins will win the Super Bowl in the next two seasons.

A Cuban-American born in Tallahassee, Florida will be drafted into the NHL in the year 2028.
