Can I explain something, friend?

Eleven years ago, I was a member of the House of Representatives for Wisconsin’s 2nd District. Democrats had the majority in the House and a filibuster-proof 60-member majority in the Senate and President Obama in the White House. But then something happened… folks had begun to tune out.

In November of 2010, fewer folks turned out to the polls and Democrats lost six Senate seats and 63 House seats. We wouldn’t regain the majority for another decade.

Mitch McConnell turned the Senate into a legislative graveyard — letting more than 500 bills pile up and collect dust on his desk. Now, he’s spending millions to attack vulnerable Democrats and reclaim the Senate majority next year to fulfill his promise of stopping the Biden administration “100%.” We can’t let him.

Folks, I’m not telling you this to scare you, but with so much work still ahead, I want to know that we did everything we could to protect our majorities and continue making progress for working families. So I have to ask:

Will you make a contribution toward our campaign’s effort to protect our Democratic majorities in Washington? We cannot hand the gavel back to Mitch McConnell.
