Maybe Texas lawmakers thought they could get away with blocking access to abortion for millions. Maybe a Supreme Court majority thought letting the abortion ban go into effect wouldn't spark mass outrage. Maybe they thought we'd sit back and stay quiet.
If that's what they thought, then they don't know us at all.
On Saturday, October 2, people from coast to coast will participate in the Rally for Abortion Justice events led by a coalition of 100+ organizations to speak out to protect abortion access. Find an event near you!
These events will bring us together to speak with one powerful voice. Together, we will make sure that lawmakers hear us loud and clear as we demand an end to abortion bans like the dangerous new law in Texas.
Find an event near you now and make a plan to show up on October 2.
The mass protest on October 2 was sparked by the Texas abortion ban — but, this isn't just about Texas.
This is about a nationwide campaign to block access to abortion, state by state. This is about barriers and burdens that fall hardest on Black people, on Latinos, on Indigenous people, on people with low incomes. This is about the right of each and every one of us to control our bodies, plan our families, and decide our futures.
And that means it's on all of us to do our part. The coalition will lead the way on October 2 with rallies, protests, gatherings, and marches. Supporters like you will show up to local events, spread the word about abortion justice, and come together nationwide with a shared commitment to protecting access to safe and legal abortion.
This is a moment for us to show the people behind these bans that we are the majority. We are powerful when we come together — and every person who joins in adds to that strength. I hope we'll see you out there on October 2.
Sincerely,
Jenny Lawson, Vice President of Organizing and Engagement Campaigns
