Hey John, really quick —

The stage is set for an overhaul of policing in cities nationwide. But our organizers in Minneapolis are facing powerful opposition intent on undermining our demands to ensure safety in Black and Brown communities.

Color Of Change PAC has long held a vision of police-free communities as a path toward racial justice and protection for Black lives. Now, through its support for this Minneapolis ballot question, we have a rare opportunity to help Black and Brown community members make that vision a reality.

With early voting now underway, can you rush a donation to support our organizing and get out the vote efforts? We’re asking again because your contribution makes connecting with voters possible, sustainable, and safe. [link removed]

Hi John,

This November, Minneapolis residents will have a historic opportunity to vote to change their city charter and replace the police department with an expanded Department of Public Safety. But earlier this week, that question was almost struck from the ballot when a judge issued a last-minute ruling to reject the language that public safety advocates fought to include.1

That’s why Color of Change PAC is organizing alongside Minneapolis residents to ensure their voices are heard, but we don't have much time — will you rush a contribution to support organizers working to reach voters this weekend? [link removed]

Here’s what our organizing looks like:

This weekend in Minneapolis, we’ll connect with residents at a local park for an evening of joy and outreach. We’ll connect with voters, pass out much-needed literature and door hangers and host an informational session about the ballot measure and have voting information available.

Later this fall, we’ll help coordinate an inclusive Get Out The Vote effort — because we know that when Black people and our allies mobilize to the polls, we’re impossible to ignore.

Despite the legal battle over the ballot language, we’re staying the course and showing up where it matters most. If you’re able — and only if you’re able — make a $25 contribution to power our grassroots organizing work through November and help us prepare for what’s coming up next. [link removed]

P.S. The clock’s running out on us and another battle with the Courts seems imminent. If you know you’re with us, become a Color Of Change PAC Sustainer through November 2. [link removed]
