John,
Senators should represent their voters, but many like Kyrsten Sinema and Ron Johnson choose to represent special interests and influential donors instead.
A perfect example of this is in prescription drug policy. Americans currently pay shockingly high rates for life-saving medications, partly because Medicare is currently restricted from negotiating for lower prices.
Fixing this loophole is extremely popular amongst Democrats and Republicans (80% in recent polling), and it's currently in the Build Back Better plan. Beyond being universally popular, it would also generate significant tax revenue to expand Medicare and much more.
In response, pharmaceutical corporations, like
Amgen, Bayer, Mylan, and Pfizer, are spending big money on lobbying to kill the ability to lower drug prices, and corporate-funded politicians like Ron Johnson and Kyrsten Sinema are all too willing to do their bidding.
John, unlike many of his opponents, Tom Nelson doesn't take any money from Big Pharma because he wants to do his job without owing favors. Can we count on you to chip in here to make sure we elect a Senator who will work for his constituents, not big drug companies?

The avoidable pain of high drug prices is incredibly sobering. A quarter of people with diabetes are risking death by rationing insulin, and one-third of Americans have skipped a refill on a needed medication for financial reasons.
For far too long, pharmaceutical companies have stopped anything from changing by flooding Washington with campaign donations.
That's why it's so important we elect a Senator who will stand up to Big Pharma. Not all Democrats can be equally trusted, and we can count on Tom because he owes them nothing.
John, please contribute now if you agree it's important we have a Senator who is willing to stand up to drug companies and demand lower prices!
Onward,
Team Nelson
