WHERE DID THE HONORABLE GO?

Once, not long ago, those offering themselves for public service were
respected as the honorable people they often were. Now, honorable people no
longer offer themselves for public service, because honorable people will
not subject themselves or their families to the abuse voters now accept and
expect of candidates.

So, our choices are often between dopes that would do such a thing.
