Friends,

I wrote you a few weeks ago about the cynical and hate-filled strategies the local Republicans are using to try to gain some traction in this election. Well, it’s gotten worse.

In addition to the Republicans' outlandish positions on gun safety, LBGTQ and women’s rights, minimum wage increases and other issues, this past week one incumbent school board member running for reelection actually bemoaned that, in Fairfax County, we aren’t teaching “both sides” of the Holocaust.  Yes! As if there’s another side. We must not allow this nonsense of false equivalence to poison our public schools.

In races up and down the ballot, far-right fanatics are campaigning with Trump-like tactics to attempt to infect our communities with their brand of anti-immigrant, ignorant rhetoric.

We know, if a voter goes into a voting booth without any information from a candidate or our sample ballot, they’ve got a 50/50 chance of selecting one of those candidates.

Your Fairfax County Democratic Committee has an amazing program to reach absentee voters, young voters, even college students, we’re staffing all the “Early Voting” polling places and, of course, we’re at the polls on election day.

If you gave to our 2019 election programs previously, thank you!  If not, could you contribute $99, or $49 or even $19 today? $29 will help us print the materials we need to staff one precinct on election day. Donate by clicking here.

I’m hoping, on November 6th, we’ll have a Fairfax County devoid of elected officials trying to stop inclusive, compassionate progressive policies -- and instead, one that will continue to help lead Virginia forward. Please contribute whatever you can to help.
