John,
Last week, Kathleen Rice joined two other House Democrats in voting against lowering prescription drug prices for all — but things would have turned out a lot differently had it been Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez on the Energy and Commerce Committee instead of corporate Democrat Kathleen Rice.
After the 2020 election, AOC stepped up to occupy a vacant seat on the powerful House Energy and Commerce Committee, but House leadership passed over AOC in favor of Big Pharma puppet Kathleen Rice. The corporate Democrats in House leadership appointed one of their own to block drug pricing reform. They sabotaged a key proposal in Biden’s own Build Back Better Plan. All to receive big campaign contributions from the very industries they were elected to oversee.
While Justice Democrats like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Pramila Jayapal, Rashida Talib, and the rest of our coalition in Congress are fighting for Medicare for All, House Democrats are fighting for insurance companies and pharmaceutical profits.

When the establishment talks about affordable health care, it's all talk. That is why we’re raising money to elect Justice Democrats who are fighting for Medicare for All and to get corporate influence out of politics. Will you chip in $3, $5, or $27 to send a message to the establishment that cheap talk doesn’t matter anymore. Not with Americans rationing their insulin or other lifesaving prescriptions.
In solidarity,
Justice Democrats
