Together we can tackle crucial environmental challenges No images? Click here Greetings John, As local elections get closer, we at WCV are putting our resources behind endorsed candidates who will champion the environment in key geographies around the state. We are focused on key races this year including Whatcom county council, Tacoma’s Port commission, and Vancouver’s city council. We’ve also newly expanded our reach into the Tri-Cities with Esteban Ortiz, our new community organizer and our partnership with Progesso. The Tri-Cities has always been an important area of the state for environmental justice. We are recommitting to organizing and engaging with voters in this community. Additionally, finding solutions to the Snake River dams has become increasingly important to the region. We see the scope for environmental advocacy in this part of the state. We are working in the communities to connect with voters and key players on strong environmental actions that affect their community and the state as a whole. Your support has allowed us to strengthen our relationships in communities such as the Tri-Cities. Become a member today and have your gift matched to ensure that we are able to build a strong platform for the candidates who will advocate for our environment and our communities. With the right people in office, we can tackle crucial challenges like environmental racism, salmon recovery, climate pollution, and polluted run-off in our streams, rivers, and Salish Sea. We can prevent the expansion of coal, oil, and fracked gas terminals, advance clean energy, promote healthy forests that can store more carbon and provide clean water, and expand voting rights. WCV has endorsed a group of environmental leaders who will fight for our environment and the health of our communities. We need your support to get them elected in November. Sincerely, Lennon Bronsema |
