John — We have a once-in-a-generation opportunity to change the way our society views and values care work. When we achieve our goal — and we will achieve our goal — millions of people will experience positive change in their day to day lives.

The short film No Shortcuts to Change, presented by NDWA and The Essential campaign [[link removed]] , brings our fight to life through the eyes of Ramona and reminds us all that care work is essential and that it doesn't take magic to create real change. There are no shortcuts. It takes commitment and it takes political will. We have both.

Even though Ramona is a fictional character, she represents so many real care workers, most of whom are women of color, who do the important work of taking care of our families and our homes so that we can live our lives.

We're fighting for the Ramona's of the world, and the people they care for. That's why we need Congress to seize this moment and deliver a reconciliation package with a total $400 billion investment in home and community-based services (HCBS) to ensure care jobs are good, family-sustaining jobs and that our loved ones can receive the care they need to live and age with dignity and respect.

Watch the short film [[link removed]] , starring comedian and actress Sherri Shepherd, and then join us by signing our petition and telling Congress that investing in HCBS' will benefit us all. [[link removed]]
