Friend,
We were crushed when the For the People Act was killed in the Senate. It was the first piece of legislation Dean co-sponsored when he got to Congress, part of his mission to make our democracy reflect the will of the people, not special interests and corporations.
But Dean never abandoned that mission. And now, fellow Minnesotan Amy Klobuchar has led the charge in the Senate to craft a compromise bill that’s our next best chance at saving our democracy.
That bill, the Freedom to Vote Act, is how we’re going to reverse restrictive voting laws and build a democracy that represents us all. Will you sign Dean’s petition today to show your support?
The Freedom to Vote Act upholds values shared by Americans on the left, right, and center. If signed into law, it would provide at least 15 days of early voting, enable all Americans to request a mail-in ballot if they want one, and allow people to register to vote on Election Day.
What’s more, it would also end partisan gerrymandering and curb the influence of dark money in our political system, giving regular people a stronger say in our democracy.
The Freedom to Vote Act is carefully crafted to get the votes we need to get democracy reform and voting rights through Congress and onto President Biden’s desk, and Congress needs to know that it has your support, too.
Add your name now to show your support for the commonsense reforms in the Freedom to Vote Act.
Thanks,
The DeanTeam
