We are quickly approaching an important fundraising deadline for our organization. Let me explain:

Our campaigns, mobilizations — and yes, even our budgets — operate around the "fiscal year." The fiscal year is between October 1 and September 30. So in other words, September is a particularly important fundraising month for our organization.

Because at the end of this fiscal year (just 8 days away), we'll tally up the contributions we have received and make campaign plans and projections based on what we've raised.

But when I ran the numbers this morning, I noticed that we are $52,018 short of where we need to be in order to realize our plans and beat the fossil fuel industry for good. If I'm being entirely honest, that worries me. But here's the thing:

If every person reading this email chips in today, we can reach our fiscal year goal in a matter of hours. So before I explain more why your support is important — especially today — please consider making a donation.
