Last week, we launched one of the hardest-hitting ads in MoveOn's history, holding General Motors accountable for donating tens of thousands of dollars to members of Congress who voted to overturn the 2020 election results in an attempt to illegally install Donald Trump in the White House for a second term.

Dear MoveOn member,

Last week, we launched one of the hardest-hitting ads in MoveOn's history, holding General Motors accountable for donating tens of thousands of dollars to members of Congress who voted to overturn the 2020 election results in an attempt to illegally install Donald Trump in the White House for a second term.

But we have a big problem: Comcast, the major cable provider in Detroit—where GM is headquartered—won't air our ad on TV.

And it turns out that Comcast has also started writing checks again to Republican Party officials—even though the company back in January suspended contributions to elected officials who voted against certification of the election.1

John, megacorporations like GM and Comcast are shoveling thousands upon thousands of dollars to treasonous GOP politicians and are banning us from airing TV ads to get the truth out.

We MUST hold them accountable. Will you chip in $3 today to help us get our ad out through social media and to power our corporate accountability campaign?

When Comcast rejected our ad, we didn't retreat or stand down. Instead, we decided to take our campaign to hold GM accountable to the next level by investing in alternatives that can grab public attention and break through.

And the press is taking notice. Detroit's two biggest newspapers wrote stories about our ad—so we know GM is feeling the heat.2,3

But we're not stopping there. The nation's biggest auto show of the year, Motor Bella, starts today in Pontiac, Michigan, outside Detroit.4 All eyes in the auto world will be focused on Pontiac, meaning the media spotlight will be on GM—and we need this ad to be part of the story.

That's why we're flying an aerial banner over Pontiac, including during GM's press conference at the show, and we will greet event attendees with billboards of the ad later this week.

And, if we can raise $100,000 in the next 24 hours, we'll also be able to blanket the internet with the ad.

Will you chip in $3 to help ramp up the pressure on General Motors to end PAC donations to members of Congress who refused to certify the democratic results of the 2020 presidential election?

After Donald Trump‘s white supremacist supporters violently attacked the U.S. Capitol, corporate America knew that they had to distance themselves from anyone who supported the white supremacist insurrection in any way.

So major corporations like Amazon, Nike, Microsoft, and Disney pledged to cut off PAC donations to members of Congress who voted against certifying the election results.5

Likewise, General Motors halted its donations and promised to reassess its giving to "ensure candidates align with our core values."6

But now, GM is again shoveling PAC money into the Sedition Caucus.

And Comcast is helping shield GM from criticism.

We've always known wealthy megacorporations are not on our side. But their behavior has been taken to new heights, as they are directly supporting politicians who are a threat to our democracy.

We can't let them get away with it.

Click here to make a $3 donation to help blanket social media with our ad and to power our campaign to pressure GM and other corporations to stop donating to treasonous members of Congress.

Thanks for all you do.
