The Hyde Amendment has barred federal funds from being used to pay for abortion care since 1976. The millions of people who are covered under Medicaid don't have full access to reproductive health care. Many have to choose between paying for an abortion or covering basic necessities.
That is completely unacceptable. Hyde has upheld racism and classism in our health care system for far too long and needs to be reversed.
