Team,

What’s happening at the border is wrong, and the images we’ve seen of Haitians being treated like animals by officers on horseback are appalling and demand an investigation.

As many of you know, many of the people at our border are coming from Haiti, a country that experienced an earthquake, a hurricane, and a presidential assassination in less than two months.

The Haitians at our border are fleeing desperate situations. They are coming here to seek asylum — a fundamental human right. But that right has been suspended in the U.S. for the past eighteen months.

Why? Because of Title 42, a Trump-era policy used to effectively end asylum in this country — and one that is still in place today. It was a wrong policy under Trump, and it’s wrong now under President Biden.

The Biden administration must immediately end Title 42 and end the cruel treatment of Haitian asylum-seekers. Add your name to join me in calling on them to end Title 42. [[link removed]]

We cannot sit idly by and let cruel and reckless Trump administration policies become the default in this country. Denying Haitians their legal right to claim asylum is wrong, and the treatment of Haitians at the border cannot continue.

People First Future will always speak out on fundamental human rights like asylum and will push our elected officials to do what is just. That means ending Title 42. Add your name if you agree. [[link removed]]

Thank you for joining me in this fight,

Julián
