We just learned that progressive Representatives succeeded today in getting $1 billion in additional weapons to Israel stripped from a must-pass budget resolution, responding to long-voiced demands of groups like AJP Action to stop the blank check we provide to fund Israel’s oppression of the Palestinian people.

1. A special registrants-only training session on Monday, September 27, at 4 PM Eastern. Join Jennifer Bing from the American Friends Service Committee, Sana Siddiq of the US Campaign for Palestinian Rights, along with our own Osama Abuirshaid and Ayah Ziyadeh, as they train you on our legislative asks of Congress.

2. Everyone is invited to a special public plenary with Members of Congress on Tuesday, September 28, at 1:30 PM Eastern. We’ve just confirmed that Rep. Ayanna Pressley will be joining the session, entitled “Ending Business As Usual: Advancing Palestinian Rights in the Biden Era,” along with Reps. Betty McCollum and Judy Chu. And Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib will be our special keynote speaker and recipient of this year’s Champion of Palestinian Rights award.

3. Then stay for another special public plenary with activists and intellectuals on Tuesday, September 28, at 2:30 PM Eastern. We’ve just confirmed that the legendary Palestinian diplomat and scholar Hanan Ashrawi will be joining the session, entitled “Ending US Complicity in Israeli Apartheid,” in conversation with Emmy-nominated journalist Ahmed Shihab-Eldin, Taurean Webb of Harvard Divinity School, Omar Shakir of Human Rights Watch, and Eva Borgwardt of If Not Now.

4. Meet up with other constituents for meetings with your Members of Congress that we’ll schedule for you starting Wednesday, September 29, and running through the week.
