A new poll indicates that Gov. Greg Abbott’s approval ratings are falling … and fast.
Before the pandemic began last March, Abbott’s approval rating was 59% -- and most people assumed he would skate through to reelection in 2022.
But thanks to his pathetic response that led to the deaths of more than 60,000 Texans, as well as the unpopular statewide abortion ban, his support among independent voters has fallen off a cliff, bringing his total approval rating to just 45%.

Texans are fed up with Greg Abbott’s far-right agenda. His support among independents has dropped from 53% in 2020 to just 30% in the new poll. They want a governor who is committed to fighting for them, not advancing his own far-right agenda or sucking up to Donald Trump.
