5 Issues to Watch at Climate Week 2021 

The world is at a make-or-break moment in the fight to address the climate emergency. Why the US Also Needs Carbon Pricing in the Reconciliation Bill 

If enacted, the U.S. bipartisan infrastructure deal and the budget reconciliation bill would be the most important climate legislation package in U.S. history. In a new article, WRI’s CEO and President Ani Dasgupta and WRI U.S. Director Dan Lashof argue that to make the policies as impactful as possible and ensure long-term success, the reconciliation package should also include a price on carbon. They explain how pricing carbon pollution can drive down emissions and speed the transition to a clean economy. Read more.

Ambitious Climate Action by G20 Countries Can Limit Global Warming to 1.7 Degrees C 

New research, co-led by WRI, finds that G20 countries have the capability to limit global temperature rise and keep the Paris Agreement’s 1.5 degree C goal within reach.
