** Leadership Weekly
------------------------------------------------------------
In this week’s Leadership Weekly, we examine how leaders craft systemic narratives at a time when politics appears increasingly personalized, steeped in narratives of the self. We feature Chitra Ganesh and Mariam Ghani in a podcast about radical archiving, a project that challenges our desire for “individual stories” and reorients our political attention towards “systemic issues and structural patterns,” as Ghani puts it. Our new editor, Anastasia Tomkin, observes a troubling diptych emerging from this year’s Met Gala between political messaging of the individual vs. the crowd. As legislators finalize Biden’s infrastructure plan—including major provisions for higher education—we revisit last month’s article calling for a systemic, collective overhaul to revolutionize universities against neoliberalism’s austerity-driven policies. Finally, we link to the recording of an event held this week by the Institute for Sustainable Communities featuring leading thinkers and legislators working to
wards energy justice for all.
