Yesterday, more than half the nation’s governors ([link removed]) called on President Biden to take immediate action to address the surge of illegal crossings and drug trafficking along the southern border, but Laura Kelly has remained silent.
The Democrat-controlled federal government has failed to take action to address the humanitarian, health, and security crisis they themselves created with their reckless policies and refusal to enforce immigration laws. With drug seizures up, and COVID-positive illegals being released into American communities, Governor Kelly’s continued silence and inaction make her complicit in her Party’s failure.
Just last month, border officials apprehended nearly 209,000 ([link removed]) illegal immigrants at the southern border. This number represents a 317% ([link removed]) increase from August 2020 and continues the trend of border encounters at the highest in 21 years.
This humanitarian crisis is one of historic proportions, but Joe Biden and Laura Kelly continue to pretend like it doesn’t exist. To make matters worse, more than 18% of migrant families and 20% of unaccompanied minors ([link removed]) tested positive for COVID in recent weeks. As both Democrat and Republican officials ([link removed]) plead for help, President Biden and Governor Kelly have shown little interest in addressing the crisis caused by their Party's disastrous policies.
The message is clear: Joe Biden & Laura Kelly have abandoned Kansans.
