Professor Nikki Usher and the New York Times’ Matt Thompson will discuss Usher’s new book, “News for the Rich, White, and Blue: How Place and Power Distort American Journalism". 

The conversation, which will feature Q&A, will appeal to those who care about the future of journalism, and equitable coverage and distribution of news. The event will be recorded for CSPAN’s Book TV.

Usher has been widely cited for her insights in a range of publications and reviews including the Washington Post, CNN and the Boston Review.

Open Markets executive director Barry Lynn, who launched the Center for Journalism & Liberty as part of the Knight Research Network in 2019, will offer opening remarks.
