Today I'm reaching out with some exciting news: While the outcome of our election in Mississippi last November wasn't what we wanted, I'm not done fighting for the rural communities that raised me.

I'm joining the board of One Country Project, a grassroots movement that's on a mission to elevate rural voices and mobilize rural Democratic voters across the nation. Growing up in a small town, I saw how communities like mine were too often neglected by politicians in Washington. That's why I'm rolling up my sleeves to continue to fight for working families, advocating for rural priorities, and helping Democrats defend our majorities in Congress.

If you know me, you know I'm a proud Democrat who's willing to take on the hard work of flipping red states blue – and I can tell you from experience that the work doesn't start a week out from Election Day, it starts right now. But to win in next year's critical midterm elections, we need on-the-ground insights from grassroots folks like you to help shape our strategy:
