John -
The Republican party has moved further and further to the right over the last few years - including their fundraising tactics.
Senior Political Analyst John Avlon said it best on CNN:
“But we all know the playbook by now, right? Say or do something outrageous, demonize the opposition, and then play the victim to raise cash. And folks fall for it.”
Jim Jordan is one of the best players in the game. He’s never passed a single bill in his 14 years in Congress, but he’s somehow one of the most well-known names in the Republican Party.
His fame doesn’t come from his legislative work, it’s because he spends every minute possible on social media and Fox News making outrageous claims and riling up his base of supporters. And he used this tactic to raise more than $18 million dollars last cycle.
This is the fundraising playbook that’s come to dominate GOP politics. Republicans are more interested in scaring people than actually earning their support by passing legislation that helps their constituents.
I’m a warehouse manager who has spent more time driving a forklift than wearing a suit. I’m running for Congress because I’m tired of politicians like Jordan who ignore their constituents and refuse to get anything done.
Will you chip in to my campaign today to fire Jim Jordan from Congress and send a voice for the working and middle class voice to Washington?
