The bill, which Local 1994 says is “right out of Scott Walker's and ALEC's playbook,” also threatens other public sector bargaining rights, the union warns. “How long before they take away the rights of our public health nurses, our bus drivers, or our parks workers?” Bill 34-20 is sponsored by Councilmembers Hans Reimer and Craig Rice. ![]() VA barber strike escalates The barbers’ union representative, LIUNA Public Service Employees Local 572 says there are three ways you can help: Send a letter today: show your support by contacting Sheffield Barbers LLC owners and AAFES. Tell them to get the union barbers back to work. Donate: send a donation to local's strike fund to support the union barbers on strike.
