This is unconscionable, John.
Last week, three Democrats on the House Energy and Commerce Committee voted down a plan to let Medicare negotiate prescription drug prices. In addition to lowering costs, the plan's savings would have been used to expand dental, vision, and hearing benefits for Medicare beneficiaries.
Cori's stance is clear: We cannot put Big Pharma's profits over saving lives.
Democrats control the House, Senate, and White House because of the courage, fierce organizing, and hope of millions of Americans. We organized for years to make these victories possible because our communities are aching for a government that centers the needs of everyday people in policy.
And now, three centrist Democrats with ties to Big Pharma are standing in the way of making prescription drug prices more affordable. It is simply unacceptable that corporate interests can keep millions struggling to afford their medication.
We won't let this stand. Cori and our progressive allies in Congress are leading the way to save lives and make health care universal. Will you chip in $5 or anything you can to support Cori as she works in Congress to ensure legislation meets the needs of her constituents in St. Louis?
We're tired of hearing stories of folks who can't afford their heart medication or are rationing insulin. The U.S. pays an average of three times more for the exact same medication as other countries!
As a nurse, Cori saw patients die because they couldn't afford their prescription medications. That's why she's worked since day one in Congress to lower the costs of prescription drugs.
John, Cori can take these hard lines to protect her constituents because, unlike the three Democrats who voted to tank the Democrats' drug pricing plan, she doesn't accept a dime of corporate PAC money. Never has, never will.
But that also means we rely 100% on grassroots supporters like you to fund Cori's work in Congress. Please, donate $5 right now or whatever is meaningful for you to power Cori's legislating and organizing work to protect people over profits and save lives.
In solidarity,
Team Cori
